emblem of their Aviation Service then, as they were
known as Burmah - Shell Aviation Service, till they
were nationalised in 1976.
Therefore, history of Aviation in India is inseparable
from the pioneering spirit of Bharat Petroleum in Aviation.
BP had laid down the Hydrant System at Santacruz and
Palam Airport (both defunct now), in the early 50's.
Aviation Fuel Since then we have come a long way. BP
had to shrink at the time of nationalisation and then
we expanded.
Today, BP own & operate Hydrant fuelling
Complex at Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi
& Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery, Cochin,
and are present at all International Airports & International
Gateways & strategic domestic airports in India.
Aviation
fuelling stations With their focussed customer service,
today they have 22.0% of the total market share of Jet
A-1 in India - foreign airlines contributing 59.64%
of our own volume.
However, our market share of total volume uplifted by
foreign airlines in India is 37.88%, which clearly indicates
the faith reposed in us by their valued customers.

leading airlines of the world and some of these customers
are associated with them for more than 6 decades.
